音楽教育奨学金制度「JAM 4 JAPAN」は、音楽の専門コースがある学校だけでなく、吹奏楽部や合唱部などの部活動やも助成対象とのことです。日本語版申請書を読むと、「音楽学科」という記述などがあるので専門コースでないと申請できないのかなと思えてしまいますが、被災地で活動するどんなタイプの音楽活動（個人、グループ、学校）も申請可能と、下記の通り米国の事務局よりメールがありましたので、ご紹介します。音楽学科→音楽プログラム、音楽活動と考えてOKのようです（原文ではそうなっていますので）。
Our hope is that EVERY type of music program, including clubs, schools with any type of musical program (including Brass Band, Chorus, etc), individual musicians, music groups, and any type of person or group who is involved with the practice of music will apply for our grant. We certainly appreciate that not every school has a formal music program, and we would love to award our grants to music clubs and brass bands as well, as well as to people or groups not affiliated with any school, located in the Tohoku region (not just formal music programs). Although many people have had questions as to whether their specific type of music program is eligible for the grant, we really want to let people know that we will accept applications from ANY type of musical activity, as long as the individual/group/school is located in the Tohoku region.

米国の人道支援NPO「Relief International」（1990年設立）と仙台を含む日本6都市とハリウッドに学校を持つ「Musicians Institute」が、このたび東日本大震災の復興支援として、「JAM 4 JAPAN」という 音楽教育奨学金制度を設けたとのことです。
このプログラム、当初は宮城県仙台市と南三陸町、岩手県釜石市と大槌町、福島県南相馬市の小学校、中学校、高校に対象を限定していたのですが、現在は宮城・福島・岩手3県全域に拡大しました。1回の助成額は＄5000。学校の音楽教育プログラムの支援、被災した音楽専門コースの復帰支援、若者の音楽教育支援、楽器の購入支援が対象となります。
締め切りは2012年2月29日です。
